Golfcourse.com Review: This course has been described as "a little bit of Scotland in North Carolina." It is a links-style course with Sea Oats and sand in the rough. The first 3 holes on the front and back 9s run alongside the ocean, and the ocean can be seen on 14 of the 18 holes. The greens are average-sized and slightly sloped. There are 5 par 5's and 5 par 3's on the course. Natural streams come into play on some holes. One of the most difficult holes is #11, a 400-yard, par 4, with an approach shot to an elevated green.

Avg. Golfcourse.com Player Review: 3.4/5.0. Mixed reviews. Some raved, other said it felt like being mugged and a horrible value next to Currituck and Carolina Club. All remarked about how your ball is gone if you miss the fairway or go over a green. Some complaints about aerated greens. All said very, very windy as it is close to the ocean. One guy said it felt like he was across the pond playing on an overcast day.
