La Toretta Lake Resort & Spa

Per my buddy Jeff R., Lake Conroe is a happenin' upscale spot. This large lake is home to about 5 courses, La Toretta being among the best, and it's the kind of spot where you're likely to see well-bred hotties partying on yachts on the water.
The course boasts memorable but playable holes with large greens. Tough hazards face big-hitter low-handicappers, but there are also bail out areas for the more casual golfer. Unlimited golf packages start around $530 for a full weekend.
Best Bar Nearby: After a round in the Texas heat, head for the resort's poolside tiki bar, the CoCoCove Grill, and order a house-specialty Mai Tai while overlooking the lazy river. If air conditioning is a must, the resort's Final Putt Lounge overlooks the course with masculine rich woods and mediallion carpeting. Go for a breakfast panini or a grilled chicken Caesar wrap. Late night head for Energie nightclub/lounge, a high-paced cocktail emporium.
Where To Grub: La Toretta features 8 dining options. For upscale, head for Chez Roux or Prime Steakhouse.
Further Distractions: The kids can hit the 3.5 acre waterpark. There's also a full-service spa at the resort for your golf widow.
