Per member Al, slopes and contours are the main challenges of this tricky Ross design.  Fairway cambers cut landing areas in half; severly sloped and tiered greens require precision approach shots, and can easily mean 4-putts or putting right off the green if you leave your approach in the wrong spot. A shot-maker's member's course.

Golfcourse.com Review: This well-bunkered course has undulating and well-manicured greens. The fairways are narrow and water comes into play on nine holes. The green on hole #16, a 453-yard, par 5, which is widely regarded as the signature hole on the course, was redesigned in 1999.

Golfcourse.com Player Reviews: 3.7/5.0 "After a recent overhaul of the greens it has turned into an excellent course…. Best value in private golf in the Philly area… The membership has made a significant investment in the course upgrading it's value, it's a gem, tougher than the rating, great walking course… "

Best Bar Nearby: Grill room on-premisis. OR, for a great sports bar/restaurant nearby, hit Giordano's in Kennett Square. The sports bar upstairs is a multi-level sports-watching orgy centered around a circular bar, with screens visible from every seat and every angle. Crow's nest above the bar has pool tables. Also, the restaurant side downstairs is seperate from the sports bar, so you can enjoy the food without dealing with all the smoke and screaming fans. Try the wings, they're a unique, perfect balance between BBQ and spicy. They don't seem hot when you first bite in, but they have a nice cumulative effect over a 20 piece order (although $12 for 20 wings is one of the steepest prices I've ever seen). $3.50 22-ounce drafts.

Where To Grub: Philadelphia Magazine, T&L Golf, and Food Network all like Half Moon Restaurant and Saloon. The house speciality is game, best ordered from the roofdeck overlooking Kennett Square's scenic surroundings.
