1Stop4Golf Website Review: Built in 1977, The Hills at Perkiomen, a THP Golf Course, is nestled in the Upper Perkiomen Valley, just West of the Exit 32 on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Formerly known as the Upper Perk Golf Course, it is a well-maintained facility and affords the golfer many quality shots. This course boasts large greens and some tricky contours combining to make the approach shots more difficult than they appear. Both nines end in par 3's, and the 180-yard 18th over a creek is a good finisher.
"Always in top condition...a personal favorite. Hurry up and try it....a local developer bought it recently and plans to put up 700 or so condos...not sure when that'll happen, but it'll be a sad day. Number 12 is the nicest on the course...all downhill!"--Ken M. 3/9/04
"Played on October 20th after not being there for several years. The course has grown in nicely with numerous trees. The greens are fast and the fairways provide for a full aray of shots over the round. The sand traps were thin and muddy, apparently washed out in recent rains. A pleasant unhurried day of golf in the sun."--Wayne S. 10/21/03
"Always kept in immaculate condition. The fairways are well kept and cut short, the greens are even and usually fast, and the rough is nothing short of challenging. As for play, the course is long and challenging. Although it’s not extremely hilly, the length of the course keeps the difficulty level high. You will most likely use every club in your bag."--Jon D. 6/13/03
Where To Grub: My dad raves about The Inn at Pekiomen Creek, Rt. 29. Great food, personable owners, and the chef will come out to chat if they're not busy.
