Eagle Rock Resort
Hazleton, PA (just NW of Allentown)

1998, Arnold Palmer
2011 Greens Fees: $33-$75
Fat Guy Notes: Per a pair of golfing acquaintances I got paired up with, Eagle Rock is a great spot for a summer buddy trip. Due to the fact that Eagle Rock is primarily a ski resort, you can rent a nice house here during summer for a song. They've been doing summer buddy trips here for a few years, getting a big ski house that sleeps 3 foursomes for about $30 a man for the entire weekend, playing 2 rounds on a quality, reasonable Arnold Palmer layout (rated 4 stars by Golf Digest), and partying at the house at night.
Golf.com Review: The rolling fairways are fairly tight, but not overly restrictive. They are lined with beautiful mature oak and maple trees. Those who have played the course remark about its magnificent design, which is unlike any other golf experience in the area.
Best Bar Nearby: Eagle Rock's 10,000 square foot clubhouse has a grill room with expansive views of the 1st and 18th holes.
