Fat Guy Notes: A golfing acquantance with alot of travel experience recently ranked Bayside among his favorite courses anywhere. My buddy Jeff R. says, "Bayside is a challenging, typical Nicklaus course. Not much sand, but plenty of water, marsh, and woods to worry about. Good conditions, natural surroundings, and barely a glimpse of the surrounding housing development."
T&L Golf Review: Bayside Resort Golf Club, Selbyville (resort)
Though partly routed along Assawoman Bay (near Ocean City, Maryland), this course reflects an unusual approach to coastal golf. Instead of showcasing the indigenous sand with large, flashed-faced bunkers, Jack Nicklaus and his design team tucked it away in small strategic spots. The greens—elevated and petite—are a further departure from the typical beach layout.
